What reinforcement does a ground floor home need?

A ground floor home needs reinforcement on everything that can be reached from the ground: the front door, the terrace or patio door and the window shutters.

On the front door, the usual: a security cylinder of exactly the right size, an escutcheon and, if needed, a deadbolt. On the terrace door, which is usually aluminium, a multipoint lock adapted to the profile.

And the shutters, which in a ground floor flat or a bungalow are often the only thing between the street and the living room. Especially in summer, when people sleep with the window open and the shutter down. For that we have our own system: we reinforce roller shutters so they cannot be lifted or bent.

It is explained in shutter security and in shutter security for ground floor homes and bungalows.
