Before calling a locksmith it helps to know two things: what size your lock cylinder is and what weak points your door has. With these two tools you can find out in a couple of minutes, from your phone and without leaving any personal details.
Cylinder size calculator
With a ruler or a tape measure you measure both sides of the cylinder and the calculator tells you the approximate size and whether it would stick out too far on the outside. A cylinder that protrudes is easier to snap or pull out, which is why it should sit flush with the door or the escutcheon.
Door security check
Eight yes or no questions about the cylinder, the escutcheon, the locking points, the hinges, the keys and the shutters. At the end you see what is worth checking and how we sort it out.
