Locksmith in Orihuela Costa

Orihuela Costa is not a town with its own square and church: it is the part of the municipality of Orihuela that faces the sea. It has around 16 kilometres of coastline with coves and beaches, about 35 kilometres from the town of Orihuela, and almost everything built there is large urbanisations. It starts where Torrevieja ends to the south, at Punta Prima, and runs as far as Dehesa de Campoamor, right next to Torre de la Horadada. From the centre of Torrevieja to La Zenia it is about ten kilometres, so for us it is an everyday working area.

Lots of second homes and neighbours from all over Europe

Most homes in Orihuela Costa are second residences, and a good many of their owners come from central and northern Europe. The municipal register falls short of measuring it, because many people spend months here without registering. You can see the result in winter: whole complexes with the shutters down and very few lights on.

If you do not speak Spanish, that is no problem. Write to us on WhatsApp in your own language and we will reply.

What the homes are like here

The most common type is the gated complex: low-rise blocks of apartments and bungalows around a pool, with an entrance gate, communal rooms and, in many cases, a garage or storerooms. Alongside them there are townhouses with a small garden and villas on their own plot.

That has consequences for security:

What we are asked for most in Orihuela Costa

Door opening in the middle of the season

Keys left inside the apartment, the door blown shut by the draught when you open the terrace, the key lost on the beach. We open without causing damage whenever the lock allows it, and if that is not possible, we tell you beforehand. You will find more detail under door opening in Orihuela Costa.

A new lock cylinder on day one

A huge number of resale homes are bought and sold in Orihuela Costa. The keys have passed through the previous owner, the agency, whoever let the property or whoever cleaned it. The sensible thing is to change the lock cylinder as soon as you are handed the keys. If you have a front door, a terrace and a storeroom, the cylinders can be keyed alike so you only need one key.

Ground floor shutters

A ground floor bungalow that spends months empty with the shutter down is exactly the case for shutter reinforcement in Orihuela Costa. We reinforce shutters so they cannot be lifted or bent, with a steel T-profile under the bottom slat and bolts that lock into the wall. Send us a photo on WhatsApp and we will tell you whether yours can be reinforced.

Empty homes and communities

Many owners ask us to check their locks and shutters before shutting up the house for the winter. Terrace doors that no longer close properly because of the salt air are also frequent work. And on urbanisations with communal areas we work for owners’ communities: locks on gates, meter room and pool doors, and master key systems.

Areas of Orihuela Costa

We work in Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig, Lomas de Cabo Roig, Villamartín, Los Dolses, La Florida, Las Filipinas, Aguamarina, Las Mimosas and Dehesa de Campoamor. Further down you will find a page for each of them.

A fixed quote and no surprises

We give you the quote before we start. The quickest way is to send a photo of the door or the lock on WhatsApp. If, when we arrive, we see something else is needed, we let you know and do not carry on without your agreement. You pay by card, Bizum or cash.

And before opening, we check that the person asking has the right to enter. On a coast with so many homes shut for much of the year, that is what protects the owners who are away.

T-profile shutter security

We reinforce roller shutters so they cannot be lifted or bent.
