Punta Prima sits right on the line between two municipalities. It is the northern end of the Orihuela coast, but the newest developments in the northern part extend into the municipality of Torrevieja without any sign of where one ends and the other begins. That is why you will see listings for the same street sometimes as Orihuela Costa and sometimes as Torrevieja. It makes no difference to us: we go to both parts, and it is just a stone’s throw from the centre of Torrevieja.
An urbanisation with history, right by the sea
The first houses went up in 1969, so Punta Prima is one of the veteran urbanisations on this coast. In the old area there are still single-storey villas on large plots and low-rise apartment blocks, with many of the pine trees that were there before building began. Next to them modern complexes have grown up with a communal pool, gardens and a garage.
Almost everything is very close to Punta Prima beach, which you reach from the promenade that runs above it. The promenade ends at the undeveloped point that gives the place its name.
It used to be mainly a summer spot for Spanish families. Today people from many countries live here all year round, with plenty of residents from northern Europe and English speakers. If you would rather explain yourself in your own language, write to us on WhatsApp.
What we are asked for most in Punta Prima
Opening apartments
In summer the typical story is going to the beach, coming back and finding the key has been left inside or lost in the sand. We carry out door opening in Orihuela Costa without causing damage whenever the lock allows it. If that is not possible, we tell you before touching anything. And before opening, we check that you have the right to enter.
Salt air on terraces and garden doors
With the sea so close, salt gets into the locks, lock cylinders and fittings of aluminium doors. The key starts to feel stiff and one day it will not turn. Timely lock maintenance usually prevents the fault, and if the part is already corroded, it is replaced.
Ground floor shutters
Ground floor apartments and villas that spend weeks shut have the shutter as their weak point. With shutter reinforcement in Orihuela Costa we reinforce shutters so they cannot be lifted or bent: a steel T-profile under the bottom slat and bolts that lock into the wall. Send us a photo and we will tell you whether yours can take the reinforcement.
A quote before we start
The quickest way is to send a photo of the door or the lock on WhatsApp. We give you a fixed quote and, if the job changes when we arrive, we let you know and do not carry on until you are happy. You pay by card, Bizum or cash.
You will find the rest of the areas on the locksmith in Orihuela Costa page.
