The whole lock needs changing when the problem is in the mechanism inside the door, not in the key. If you have only lost your keys or the cylinder is playing up, changing the cylinder is enough.
Cases where the lock has to be changed:
- It has been forced and the lock case or the bolts are damaged.
- The bolts do not come out fully or stop halfway even though the cylinder turns properly.
- It is very worn inside and fails even after adjusting.
- It is an old lever lock and you want to move to a cylinder.
- You want more locking points, for example a multipoint lock.
Before changing anything, we check it. Very often an adjustment sorts it out. It is explained in lock replacement.
