Do I have to replace the shutter to reinforce it?

No. The reinforcement is fitted to the shutter you already have: the 4 mm T-shaped steel profile is glued and screwed underneath its bottom slat, and the bolts go at both ends of that slat, slotted into the wall.

What does have to be checked is whether your particular shutter takes the system. That cannot be known without seeing it, so the best thing is to send us on WhatsApp a photo of the shutter lowered, from outside, with the bottom slat and both sides in view.

If, when we see it, we think the shutter has a problem, we tell you before anything else.

You will find more details in shutter security. And if your shutter is broken or does not go up properly, see roller shutter repair.
