Keys locked inside

Keys locked inside is the situation where you are locked out of your home because the keys have been left inside, either with the door pulled shut or with the key left in the lock on the inside.

There are two cases to tell apart. If the key is in your bag or on the table, opening is usually simple. If it has been left in the lock on the inside, many lock cylinders will not let another key in from outside and opening gets more complicated. Some cylinders have an emergency function that does allow it.
