What is a lock forensic examination?

A lock forensic examination, known in Spain as a peritaje, is the technical examination of a lock or a cylinder to find out whether it was forced, how and with what technique. It often has to be taken apart to see the traces inside.

It is useful above all in three situations:

Two things need to be told apart. A locksmith’s technical report describes the state of the lock with photos and is used for the police report and the insurance claim. A court expert report is drawn up by an expert witness for a court, with its own requirements.

We produce the technical report: we examine the lock and put in writing what we see. If your case is going to court, discuss it with your lawyer. We explain it in forced lock report.
