Guide rail reinforcement means making the side rails the shutter runs in stronger and deeper, so that the slats cannot be pulled out of them by levering or bending.
Standard guide rails are thin aluminium sections screwed into the window opening. Over the years they work loose, spread or twist, and then the shutter jams or comes out more easily.
Reinforcing the guide rails helps, but the slat is still the same, and if it bends in the middle it ends up finding a gap. That is why our shutter security system works on the bottom slat: a 4 mm steel T-profile that does not bend and bolts that lock into the wall at both ends.
