An up-and-over garage door is a door with a single leaf that, when opened, lifts and swings until it sits under the garage ceiling. It is very common on villas, townhouses and bungalows in the area.

There are two types, depending on how the weight is balanced. Counterweight doors have weights that go up and down inside boxes at the sides of the opening. Spring doors have side springs that stretch when the door closes. On both, if a cable or a spring breaks, the door becomes heavy or dangerous and should not be forced.

When it is manual, it locks with a central lock that drives rods out to the sides or down into the floor. That lock we do open if you are left without a key or it seizes with the damp. The door, its springs and its motor we do not repair. You will find it in garage and storeroom opening.
