An anti-drill cylinder is a cylinder with very hard parts, usually hardened steel in the form of rods, plates or balls, placed in the areas a drill would target to destroy the mechanism. When the bit reaches them, it skids, blunts or breaks.
Drilling is a noisy attack, but it does happen, especially in empty homes or business premises closed overnight. An unprotected brass cylinder gives way quickly.
Full protection has two parts that reinforce each other. The anti-drill cylinder protects its own interior, and the security escutcheon covers it from the outside, usually with its own anti-drill area in front of the cylinder.
From the outside it looks like any other cylinder, so rely on the manufacturer’s technical sheet. We help you choose from our security cylinders and, if needed, with escutcheon installation.
