BS3621 is a British standard for thief resistant locks operated by key, from both the outside and the inside. It is very well known in the UK because many home insurers require it on entrance doors.
It is mainly associated with British mortice lever locks, although there are locks of other types that also meet it. What it certifies is that the lock has passed tests of resistance to attack and manipulation.
If you have a home in Torrevieja with insurance taken out in the UK, check the policy: some ask for this standard, and in Spain it is not the norm. Here the references are UNE-EN 12209 for locks and UNE-EN 1303 for cylinders. Ask your insurer whether it accepts an equivalent.
