A PVC shutter is a roller shutter with rigid plastic slats. It is the most widespread kind in homes in the area because it is light and simple.

You can recognise it because the slats weigh very little, sound like plastic when you tap them and are usually white or light coloured. After many hours of strong sun, PVC dries out, fades and turns brittle, and the slats end up cracking or splitting.

One or two broken slats can be replaced if compatible parts are available, as we explain in shutter repair. In terms of security it is the weakest shutter, because the slat gives way easily. If you are worried about your ground floor property, ask us about shutter security by sending a photo on WhatsApp.
