A vehicle gate (in Spanish, portón) is a very large gate, usually with two leaves or sliding, that gives access to a property, a courtyard, a warehouse or a garage and lets vehicles through.
It can be barred, made of sheet metal or a mixture of both. Many have a smaller pedestrian door set into one of the leaves, with its own lock, so that the whole gate does not have to be opened every time.
Because of their weight, the first things to suffer are the hinges, the wheels and the tracks. When the leaf drops, the latch stops engaging and the lock starts being forced.
Please note that we do not install or repair garage doors or their motors. What we do is open garages and storerooms when you are locked out: see garage and storeroom opening. For grilles and pedestrian gates, see security grilles.
