A call-out is each request for service a locksmith receives: the call or message in which someone asks them to come and open a door, change a lock cylinder or check a lock.

A good call-out saves time for both of you. If you say where you are and what is happening, and send a photo of the door and the lock, the locksmith knows which tools to bring and can give you a quote before setting off. If there is someone inside who cannot get out, a child or an elderly person, say so first.
