A security door is a front door with one or more steel sheets inside the leaf, usually clad in timber or given a wood finish, fitted with a security lock and reinforced hinges. It is the most common front door in flats and new homes in the area.

You can recognise one because it is much heavier than an ordinary door, it has thick barrel hinges instead of thin ones and, when you lock it with the key, several bolts usually come out of the edge. On many of them, if you look at the edge with the door open, you can see the steel.

Its security depends on more than the steel sheet: the lock cylinder, the escutcheon, the hinge bolts and a subframe firmly anchored to the wall all count for a lot. A security door with a weak cylinder is a door with a weak point. We fit and upgrade this type of door, as you can see in security doors.
