Do you need to change the lock cylinder after a door opening?

Not always. If the door was opened without damage and your keys are still in the house, the cylinder works just as before and there is no reason to change it.

It is worth changing in these cases:

• If it had to be broken to open the door. Then a new one is fitted there and then.
• If you have lost your keys and do not know where, especially if they were with something showing your address.
• If they have been stolen, for example with your handbag or wallet.
• If the cylinder was already playing up: the key was hard to turn or kept sticking.
