Can a door be opened without breaking the lock?

Yes, in most cases it can. We always start with a non destructive opening, which leaves the lock and the door as they were.

What matters most is how it is shut. If it was only slammed shut, on the latch, it can usually be opened without touching the lock. If it is locked with the key, it depends on the cylinder: many open without damage, but a high security one is made precisely to resist that.

When there is no other way, as little as possible is broken, nearly always just the cylinder, which is replaced there and then. We tell you before we do it and you decide.

If you send us a photo of the lock from the outside, we tell you what to expect before we go. More details in door opening.
