It depends on the shop door, but the usual choice is a security lock with several locking points, a cylinder protected by an escutcheon and, if the door calls for it, an extra deadbolt.
A shop is shut overnight and on Sundays, often on streets with few people about at those times. That is why its door has to withstand more than a home’s.
Some ideas depending on the case:
- Glass and aluminium door. A lock adapted to the profile, ideally multipoint.
- Wooden or metal door. A mortice security lock and a surface mounted deadbolt.
- Several staff with keys. A master key system, so each person opens only what they need.
If it also has a roller shutter, its lock is checked too. It is all in lock installation.
