Why do some websites advertise very low prices?

Usually because that price is for the simplest possible case or just for the call-out, and the real amount depends on the work that needs doing.

One lock is not the same as another. Opening a door shut only on the latch has nothing to do with opening a security door with several locking points, and changing a basic cylinder is not the same as fitting a security one with an escutcheon. A general price cannot cover every case.

That is why we do not publish prices. We would rather you sent us a photo so we can give you a fixed quote for your case.

When you see an advertised price, ask:

If the answers are clear, perfect. We explain it in how we work.

How do I spot a locksmith who overcharges?

Be wary if you are not given the total price before work starts, if the advertised amount only covers the call-out or if there is no invoice. Always ask for the fixed price. Read the full answer

Do you charge if the job cannot be done in the end?

Anything that would be charged in that case we tell you before setting off, not afterwards. And if the photo already shows it is not our kind of work, we say so and do not go. Read the full answer
