Yes, the lock on a metal roller shutter can be changed without replacing the shutter, and often changing just the cylinder is enough.
The most common types on premises in the area:
- A central lock, which throws bolts out to the sides into the guide rails.
- A floor lock, which drives a bolt into the floor.
- Side locks at the ends of the bottom slat.
It is worth changing when you have lost keys, when there has been an attempt to force it or when the salty air has seized it up so badly that it gets harder every day. If it is only dirt, it can sometimes be brought back by cleaning and lubricating it with a suitable product.
To give you a fixed quote we need a photo of the lock from the outside and, if possible, of the whole shutter. We explain it in locks for metal roller shutters.
