The control board is the electronic unit of an automatic door or a motorised roller shutter: it receives the commands and decides what the motor does. It is the brain of the automation system.

Connected to it are the remote control receiver, the wall push buttons and key switches, the photocells, the warning light and, in some cases, the limit switches. Depending on what it receives, it tells the door to open, close, stop or reverse, and it controls timings such as the pause before automatic closing.

It usually sits in a sealed box next to the motor or on a garage wall. On the coast, damp and salt are the enemies of its electronics, so the box should always be properly closed. Fitting and repairing it is a job for an automation technician; we do not work on motors. Our work on shutters is in roller shutter repair.
