Triangle key

A triangle key is a key with a triangular tip, male or female, that fits simple locks of the same shape. It has no cuts or code: any triangle key of that size opens that type of lock.

It is used on meter cupboards, electrical panels, inspection hatches and service cupboards, and also on the manual release of some shutter and door motors. That is why the caretaker or the person in charge of maintenance for the residential community usually has one.

Precisely because it has no secret, it is no use as a security lock: it stops the curious, not someone who wants to get in. If you need a room or a cupboard to be properly locked, what you want is a lock with a cylinder. You will find it in lock installation.
