Rojales has a village beside the river Segura and, a few kilometres away, urbanisations where most of its population lives, with Ciudad Quesada leading the way. From Torrevieja, Ciudad Quesada is about ten kilometres. It is one of the municipalities in Spain with the most foreign residents, mainly British and German, and you notice it on every door opening: very often the person locked out would rather explain things in English. Message us on WhatsApp in your language and we will reply.
Villas with a gate and several doors
In Ciudad Quesada and in Doña Pepa the norm is a villa, a townhouse or a bungalow with an outside gate, a front door and another door to the garden or the kitchen. You can get locked out at any of them:
- The gate locked with the key inside the house.
- The front door pulled shut when you pop out to hang the washing or pick up the post.
- The garden door, in aluminium or PVC, which has blown shut in the wind.
Tell us which one it is and, if you can, send us a photo. With that we give you a fixed quote before we come.
The lock that will not turn after weeks shut up
Many Rojales residents spend long spells back in their own country, in summer or at Christmas. When they come back, the lock has not moved for weeks, with dust and sun on it, and the key goes in but will not turn. Do not force it. A bent key, or one snapped inside, makes the opening much more complicated. You will find what to do at that moment in the key will not turn.
Rojales village
In the village there are traditional houses and flats, with older doors. Some still have an old-fashioned lock with a big key, which is opened differently from a door with a cylinder. If the wooden door has taken on damp from the river and rubs, we take that into account too when opening it.
We check that you can get in
In an area with so many houses left empty, sometimes the person asking for the door to be opened is a neighbour, a friend looking after the house or a tenant. Before opening we always check that whoever is asking has the right to enter that home; we explain how that is proved when you call. It is the same check that protects your house when you are the one who is away.
How we work
- A fixed quote before we start. If the job changes when we arrive, we tell you and do not carry on without your agreement.
- We try to open without damage whenever the door and the lock allow it.
- If the cylinder has to be sacrificed, we tell you beforehand and leave the door locking properly.
- You can pay by card, Bizum or cash.
