Door opening in Algorfa

Villas by the golf course, apartments let by the season and village houses. In Algorfa we open doors for residents, owners and guests.

Algorfa is an inland town in the Vega Baja, about twenty kilometres from Torrevieja, with around 3,800 residents, more than half of them foreign nationals and with a strong British community. Besides the village centre it has urbanisations of villas and apartments: Lo Crispín, Castillo de Montemar, Montebello and the homes next to the La Finca golf course. We open doors in all of them.

Guests who get locked out

Many villas and apartments in Algorfa are let by the season, often to people who come to play golf or to spend a few weeks in the sun. The person locked out is usually a guest who does not know the house, with the only key left by the owner or the company managing the rental. And the owner is very often in another country.

In those cases, before opening we check that whoever is asking has the right to get in; we explain how that is proved when you call. If you are an owner who lets your property, the holiday rentals page will interest you, with ideas so that a lost key does not turn into a problem. Guests can message us on WhatsApp in their own language.

Villas with several doors

In a villa in La Finca or Castillo de Montemar there is a gate, a front door, terrace doors out to the pool and often a garage. The most common way to get locked out is by the terrace door, in aluminium or PVC, which shuts behind you as you step out. Before you call us, walk round the house in case another door has been left open. If not, you will find the first tips in keys locked inside the house.

Apartments in residential complexes

In the gated complexes with a pool in Lo Crispín or Montebello, if your house keys are locked inside, the keys to the communal entrance usually are too. See whether a neighbour or the urbanisation’s maintenance staff can open the gate for you. That way, when we arrive, only your own door is left.

The lock that will not respond after weeks shut up

When the house has been closed for a while, with dust and sun on it, the key may go in and not turn. Do not force it: a bent or snapped key makes the opening much more complicated. Send us a photo and we will tell you what to do.

In the village

In the centre of Algorfa there are village houses and flats belonging to lifelong residents, with wooden doors and old locks. The openings here are the usual ones: a forgotten key, a door pulled shut or a worn lock that only turns halfway.
