Locksmith in Daya Nueva

Daya Nueva is a small municipality in the Vega Baja, in the farmland on the left bank of the Segura, east of Almoradí. Its municipal area covers about seven square kilometres and, according to the INE, it has around 1,900 inhabitants. It borders Almoradí, Dolores, Daya Vieja, Formentera del Segura and Rojales. From Torrevieja it is about twenty-two kilometres by car.

A farming village

Irrigated farming has always been the backbone of Daya Nueva: citrus fruit, artichokes and potatoes, watered from the irrigation channels of the vega. Over the years the village has gained shops and other businesses, but it is still a quiet place, where neighbours know each other.

Replacing locks that have been there forever

Many houses still have old big-key locks or lock cylinders that no longer turn smoothly. When the door is sound, the most practical thing is to replace only what is failing. If it is the lock cylinder that is worn, lock cylinder replacement solves it. If the lock is an old-style one, it can be converted to a European-profile cylinder while keeping the door.

Family keys

When a house is inherited or shared among brothers and sisters, it is normal for there to be keys everywhere. If you want to know exactly who can get in, change the lock cylinder and hand the new keys only to the people you choose.

Ground floor shutters

Country houses and storehouses in the farmland

In the countryside around Daya Nueva there are houses and storehouses that go for days with nobody there. A padlock or a simple lock on a sheet metal door is little protection. In these cases we suggest security deadbolts, tougher locks for metal doors or reinforcement for wooden doors. Before we suggest anything, you send us photos and we tell you what makes sense and what does not.

Damp in the vega

Right in the farmland, the winter damp shows on wooden doors: they swell, scrape the floor and the latch no longer goes into its place. Often it is enough to adjust the door and the lock so that everything closes properly again, without replacing anything.

A fixed quote before we start, ideally with a photo on WhatsApp. If, when we arrive, we see the job is different, we explain it to you and do not carry on without your agreement. You can pay by card, Bizum or cash. And before opening a door, we check that the person asking has the right to enter, even if in a small village you all know each other.
