Lock cylinder replacement in Benijófar

Benijófar is a small town beside the Segura, about fifteen kilometres from Torrevieja and right next to Rojales and Ciudad Quesada. Its small municipality has room for village houses belonging to long-standing families, flats in small buildings and new areas of townhouses, bungalows and villas, where many European residents live. When you arrive at a house that is new to you

If you have just bought or rented in Benijófar, think of everyone who may have had a key before you: the previous owner, their family, the estate agency, a tenant or two. In a village house that has passed through several generations, the list can be long. Changing the cylinder on day one is the simplest way to start with peace of mind.

If you are a tenant, speak to the landlord first: the cylinder is part of the property and the normal thing is to agree it with them.

Village houses: first, see what lock there is

In the centre of Benijófar there are doors with a cylinder lock and others that still have a lever lock, the one with a big key. On the first kind, changing the cylinder is enough. On the second there is no cylinder to change: the lock has to be converted to a euro cylinder, using the existing cut-out in the door if possible. New areas: several doors and houses left empty

The townhouses and villas in the newer areas have a gate, a front door, a terrace door and sometimes a garage. If we change them at the same time, we can fit cylinders that all open with the same key.

If you spend a few weeks away, on the front door we recommend a security cylinder, fitted flush with the door or the escutcheon.
