Here we have gathered the questions we are asked most often about the door itself: the leaf, the frame, the hinges and the hardware. Very often the lock works perfectly well and the problem is the door, which rubs, has dropped or no longer lines up with the strike plate.

This is useful if you have a door that is hard to close, if you are thinking of fitting a security door or if you want to change the handles or add a door closer. On the coast we see a lot of timber that swells with the damp and frames that shift in homes that stay shut for months.

If your case is not on the list, send us a photo on WhatsApp and we will tell you what is wrong with your door and give you a quote before we start.

Why does my door rub on the floor or the frame?

What do I do if my door has dropped?

What security grade should a security door have?

The UNE-EN 1627 standard sorts doors into six resistance classes. For a home at least class 3 is usually recommended, but the frame and the lock count just as much. Read the full answer

Can the handles be changed without changing the lock?
