ISEO lock cylinders and locks in Torrevieja

ISEO is an Italian locksmithing brand that makes cylinders, locks and other fastenings for front doors and buildings. Its cylinders turn up on the front doors of flats and on doors that open onto terraces and gardens.

What we usually do with ISEO

• Replace the cylinder. If you have lost your keys, had them stolen or the cylinder is stiff, a lock cylinder replacement is done without touching the lock.
• Step up a level. If your door has a basic cylinder, you can move to one of our security cylinders, with greater resistance to extraction and snapping.
• Check after a break-in attempt. A cylinder that has been through an attempt to force it may still open but be damaged inside. We replace it and check the escutcheon.

Cylinders and salt air

In Torrevieja there is a problem that hardly exists inland: the salty air. A cylinder on a door that faces outside builds up salt, sand and damp. The pins stick, the key goes in with difficulty and one day it stops turning. To prevent it:

• Use a dry lubricant made for locks, never cooking oil or thick grease.
• If the house is shut up for months, ask someone to lock and unlock it every so often.
• Do not force the key if it is stiff; snapping it inside makes opening the door much harder.

If the lock belongs to a community or a business, the best thing is to include it in lock maintenance so it is checked before it fails.
