KABA is a brand of Swiss origin with a long tradition in security cylinders. You often find it on high-end front doors and, above all, in master key systems for offices, buildings and residents’ communities, where each key opens a specific set of doors.
What we usually do with KABA
- Replace a cylinder because the keys have been lost or stolen, or because it has been damaged in an attempt to force it.
- Fit a high-security cylinder on a door that has a basic one. From our range of security cylinders we choose the one that suits your lock.
- Review or extend a master key system. If your business or your community already has a key plan and a door needs adding or a cylinder replacing, we study it before touching anything.
Master key systems: what you should know
In a master key system, each cylinder is designed to be opened by certain keys and not others. That is why a new cylinder cannot be chosen as it would be for a single home: it has to fit into the plan. Before changing anything, it helps to have to hand:
- A photo of the cylinder and the key.
- The system documentation, if there is any.
- The list of who holds each key.
With that we can tell you whether the existing system can be extended or whether it is worth setting up a new one through master keying. If you run an office, the businesses and offices page explains how we organise the work.
What we do not do
We do not install access control or electronic locks, and we do not cut copies of keys. We work with mechanical cylinders and locks.
We give you a fixed quote before we start and the invoice can be made out to the business or the community.
