AMIG is a hardware brand you see a lot in Spanish hardware shops: barrel bolts, surface bolts, hinges, pull handles and other fittings for doors and windows. It is made for everyday use in the home, above all on interior doors, patio doors and storerooms.
What we usually do with AMIG
Most of the time people call us because a barrel bolt no longer goes into its keep, because a bolt has come loose or because the door has moved and nothing lines up. In those cases:
- We adjust or reposition the keep so the bolt slides in again without forcing it.
- We replace the worn fitting with an identical or compatible one, using the same holes wherever possible.
- If you want more protection than a barrel bolt gives you, we fit one of our keyed security deadbolts.
Barrel bolt or security deadbolt
A surface barrel bolt stops a door swinging open on its own or lets you lock it from the inside. It is not designed to stand up to a break-in attempt. If the door leads onto the street, a patio or a communal storage area, you are better off with a deadbolt with a cylinder and a solid fixing into the frame. We can tell you what suits your door from a photo.
Interior doors
On bathrooms and bedrooms, sometimes the problem is not the bolt but the passage lock itself. For those cases there are interior door locks, and if what has failed is the handle, we can replace your handles and knobs.
Send us a photo of the fitting and the door on WhatsApp and we will give you a fixed quote before we start.
