DIERRE is an Italian manufacturer known for its security doors. These are doors with a reinforced leaf and multipoint locks.

What we do and what we do not

We do not sell or install new security doors. What we do is look after the DIERRE door you already have:

• Open it when the key is lost or breaks, or the lock jams. This is our security door opening service, using the technique that does the least damage.
• Repair the lock when one of the locking points stops coming out or the key is hard on the last turn.
• Replace the cylinder, because the keys have been lost or to move up to a more secure one. A lock cylinder replacement on a security door is just as quick as on an ordinary door, provided the lock takes a European cylinder.
• Adjust the door leaf when it has dropped and the bolts rub.

The weight of a security door

A security door weighs a good deal more than a wooden one. With use, the hinges give a little and the leaf drops just enough for the bolts to rub on the frame. The signs are clear: it is hard to close, you have to push or lift the door, the key is stiff. If you leave it, the lock works under strain and eventually fails, sometimes with the door shut. A timely door repair and adjustment prevents it.

Some security door locks use the manufacturer’s own parts. From a photo of the edge of the door, the outside escutcheon and the key, we can tell you whether there is a compatible spare or what alternative there is.
