MCM is a brand we see on security locks on front doors, among them some security doors. These locks are built to last, but like any mechanism they wear, and on the coast they rust as well.
When the door will not open
This is the most typical call: the key turns halfway, gets stuck on the last turn or will not go in at all. On a security door you should not force it, because the lock is sturdy and what usually breaks is the key. If you are in that situation, have a look at the security door that will not open page and message us.
To open it we carry out security door opening, always looking for the technique that does the least damage to the door. Beforehand, we check that you have the right to enter.
What we usually do with MCM
- Cylinder replacement when the cylinder is worn or damaged or the keys have been lost.
- Repair when a bolt, the lock case or the rods of the locking points fail. We do this as part of our lock repair service.
- Replacement with a compatible lock if the original cannot be repaired.
- Door adjustment, because very often the fault comes from a leaf that has dropped and makes the bolts rub.
A habit that saves you a scare
If the key starts to get stiff, do not get into the habit of pushing or lifting the door to lock it. It is a sign that something has gone out of adjustment, and if you leave it, the lock ends up jamming with the door shut. Checking it in time is much simpler than an emergency opening.
