LINCE is a very common brand on front doors in Spain. You often find its mortice locks, deadbolts and cylinders in flats of every age, including in the buildings of Torrevieja and the urbanisations along the coast.
What we usually do with LINCE
- Cylinder replacement. This is what we are asked for most: lost keys, a newly bought flat or a cylinder that has gone stiff. The lock cylinder replacement is done with one of the same size.
- Lock repair. A latch that stays in or a bolt that does not come all the way out can usually be fixed.
- An extra deadbolt. If your door only locks with the main lock, adding one of our security deadbolts holds it at a second point.
- Protective escutcheon. A cylinder that sticks out of the door can be gripped and snapped. With escutcheon installation the cylinder is protected.
The whole door, not just one part
A door is only as strong as its weakest point. A LINCE lock in good condition is not much use if the cylinder is basic and sticks out a couple of finger-widths, or if the frame is loose. That is why, when we replace a cylinder, we also look at the escutcheon, the strike plate and the hinges, and tell you if there is anything worth improving. You decide.
If you have bought a resale flat
It is very likely that the door has had the same cylinder for years and that there are keys in the hands of former owners, tenants, neighbours or relatives. Replacing the cylinder on day one is the simplest way to know that only you can open it.
Send us a photo of the edge of the door and the cylinder. We give you a fixed quote before we start and you pay by card, Bizum or cash.
