Molino Blanco is in the northern part of the Torrevieja municipality, about four kilometres from the centre, within the Torreblanca area and on the way to La Mata, with La Mata beach a short distance away. It is one of the older urbanisations in the municipality: its development plan was approved in 1967 and the Town Hall’s record shows it as fully developed.
An urbanisation with every kind of house
What is unusual about Molino Blanco is the variety its plan provided for: detached family homes, townhouses, grouped three-storey apartments and taller apartment blocks. That is why villas, townhouses and blocks of flats now sit side by side within a few streets. There are year-round residents and many beach houses that are opened up in summer.
What we are asked for in Molino Blanco
Beach houses closed up for half the year
With the beach so close, many homes are only used in the holidays. When you come back, the lock has sat still for months with the salty air on it. The key will not go in or only goes in halfway. The best thing is to have it checked before you close the house, with lock maintenance or a cylinder change if it is already worn.
Cylinders when you buy or inherit
On an urbanisation with so many years behind it, many houses have changed hands or been inherited. Old keys could be in any drawer. Changing the lock cylinder is the first thing we recommend.
Ground-floor shutters
Villas and townhouses with windows at street or garden level. We reinforce shutters so they cannot be lifted or bent, with a steel T-profile under the bottom slat and bolts that lock into the wall. We explain it under shutter reinforcement for second homes.
