Mar Azul is on the southern coastline of the Torrevieja municipality, about three kilometres from the centre, on the stretch of coast that runs down towards Punta Prima. It has its own development plan and a planning agreement in the Town Hall’s records, and it is a finished residential area, with buildings looking out to sea.
Coastal apartments and lots of letting
The usual home in Mar Azul is an apartment or duplex in a complex with a pool, some of them on the frontline. A large share are used as second homes or let to tourists by the day or the week. Some owners live here, but many others manage their flat from outside Spain.
The typical jobs in Mar Azul
Changing the cylinder between one season and the next
In a holiday let flat, the key passes through many hands: guests, cleaners, maintenance, the agency. After a year nobody knows how many copies there are. Many owners ask us to change the cylinder before the summer or when they change manager. If you let your flat, you will want to read what we explain about holiday lets.
Salt air on the frontline
The doors and windows facing the sea are the ones that suffer most. Salt gets into the cylinder, the key scrapes as it goes in and, if nobody uses the door for months, on the day you arrive it will not open. On terraces with aluminium doors, the handles and catches seize up in the same way. A check before you close the house for the season saves a lot of grief.
Keys inside and doors slammed shut
In summer, with the terrace open and the draught coming in off the sea, doors shut by themselves. If it happens to you, see how we work under door opening in Torrevieja. We open without damage when the lock allows it.
If you manage the flat from abroad
You can message us on WhatsApp in your language. We ask you for a photo of the door and the cylinder, give you a fixed quote and, before opening or changing anything, we check that the person asking has the right to do so. You can pay by card, Bizum or cash.
