La Torreta lies north-west of Torrevieja town centre, a kilometre and a half away, between the town and the Laguna Rosa, and it borders Torreta Florida. It is a very large urbanisation: according to its planning record it covers more than a million square metres, with its development plan approved in 1973 and more than two thirds built up a long time ago. Property portals usually group it with La Siesta and El Salado.
Low-rise houses on a long-established urbanisation
Because it is so large and was built in phases, La Torreta has variety: terraced bungalows, townhouses, semi-detached houses and villas with plots, nearly all of one or two storeys. Many houses are already a few decades old, others have been renovated and there is the odd more recent development. Year-round residents live here alongside holiday homes.
What we are asked for in La Torreta
Locks that have been there from the start
In the oldest houses we still see the original locks and cylinders. They work, but they are worn and easy to open. If the door is in good shape, changing the cylinder is enough; if the lock is failing too, we carry out a complete lock change.
Houses with several doors
Gate, main door, back door, terrace, storeroom. The more doors, the more keys. With keyed-alike cylinders you open them all with a single key, which is a real help when you have to leave the house with a neighbour or whoever looks after it while you are away.
Shutters when the house is left empty
In low-rise houses, the windows are the weak point. Shutter reinforcement means they cannot be lifted or bent: a steel T-profile under the bottom slat and bolts at each end that lock into the wall.
How we work
A fixed quote before we start, ideally from a photo on WhatsApp. If the job changes when we arrive, we let you know. Before opening any door we check that the person asking has the right to get in.
