Locksmith in Nueva Torrevieja

Nueva Torrevieja is one of the town’s oldest areas of expansion. Its development plan was approved in 1968 and the municipal record itself describes it as the natural extension of the old town, growing towards the Alicante road. It lies in the northern part, just over a kilometre from the centre, and property portals usually group it with Aguas Nuevas.

Houses from different eras

Because it was built over many years, there is a bit of everything here: family houses with terraces, townhouses, flats in low-rise buildings and the odd fully renovated home. It is a district of year-round residents more than holidaymakers, with a real neighbourhood life.

In houses a few decades old it is normal to find locks that were fitted when the home was built and have never been changed.

What we are asked for in Nueva Torrevieja

Switching from a lever lock to a cylinder

We still see doors with locks that take a large-bit key, the traditional kind. They open relatively easily and the keys can be copied anywhere. Lever lock to cylinder conversion lets us fit a modern European profile cylinder while keeping the door, with no building work.

Changing the whole lock

When the lock is worn, the latch does not go in properly or the door only locks at one point, a lock change to one with several locking points is sometimes worth it. We explain the options from a photo before we come out.

Grilles on windows and patios

On ground-floor houses with windows onto the street or back patios, many residents prefer security grilles. Another option, if you already have shutters, is to reinforce them so they cannot be lifted or bent.
