Jardín del Mar lies north of Torrevieja’s old town, about two kilometres from the centre, in the band of urbanisations that stretches towards the Benijófar road and the big shopping centres. It is not a single urbanisation but a series of complexes sharing the same name plus a number, built in phases: Jardín del Mar I, V, X and so on.
Bungalows and townhouses with pools
The typical home is a ground-floor or upper-floor bungalow or a two-storey townhouse, in complexes with a communal pool and gardens, often on closed streets or cul-de-sacs. There are foreign and Spanish buyers, and homes lived in all year round alongside others opened up for the holidays or let.
What we are asked for in Jardín del Mar
One key for all your doors
On a townhouse with a main door, a back patio door, a way out to the terrace and a tool shed, each lock usually has its own key. With keyed-alike cylinders we fit cylinders that all open with the same one. It is one of the most appreciated jobs on urbanisations like this.
Door shut on the way to the pool
Heading out to the communal pool with your towel and sun cream, and the door closes with the keys inside. It happens a lot in summer. If it happens to you, read door slammed shut: we open without damage whenever the lock allows it.
Shutters while you are away
Ground-floor bungalows and townhouses have windows at ground level. Shutter reinforcement stops them being lifted or bent: a steel T-profile under the bottom slat and bolts at each end that lock into the wall.
