Los Balcones lies in the south of the municipality, about four or five kilometres from Torrevieja town centre, between the Laguna Rosa and the Orihuela Costa area. It is a large urbanisation, with lots of pine trees and views over the salt lakes from some streets. In and around it there are complexes with their own names, such as Lago Jardín and Lago Sol, and Torrevieja hospital is nearby.
Houses with plots and a quiet life
Detached and semi-detached villas with gardens are the norm here, many with a private pool, on gated or partly gated urbanisations. There are also bungalows and townhouses with patios. It is a quiet area, very family-oriented, with year-round residents and homes used for part of the year. The beach is a few kilometres away, by car.
What we are asked for in Los Balcones
Organising the keys to a villa
Main door, garage door, terrace door, pool pump room, street gate. A villa has lots of keys, and when it is let or looked after by someone while the owner is away, it is best if not everyone can open everything. A master key system gives the owner one master key and partial keys to anyone who only needs to get into one part.
Locks with more locking points
Many doors on older villas have a simple lock. On detached houses, surrounded by garden and sometimes empty for part of the year, a multipoint lock that locks in several places at once is well worth it.
Ground-floor shutters
As these are single or two-storey houses with lots of windows at garden level, the shutters matter. Shutter reinforcement means they cannot be lifted or bent: a steel T-profile under the bottom slat and bolts locked into the wall.
